Dr. Maria Stamatelatou

From 2007 to 2011 she worked alongside Professor Sotirios Raptis at the Internal Medicine Clinic of the Athens Medical Centre, while also taking part in a University of Athens research programme on internal medicine, diabetes mellitus and infection. She has taught dentistry students at the University of Athens and is responsible for training the nutrition and dietetics students who undertake placements at the Diabetes Clinic.

She is a member of the Hellenic Diabetes Association, the Hellenic Society of Internal Medicine, the Hellenic Society for Strategic Studies in Diabetes and the Hellenic Society for Obesity, and represented Greece at the European Young Internists meeting in Lucerne in 2010. She has contributed as first author to more than 100 papers presented at Greek and international congresses and to publications in medical journals, and has written chapters in medical books. She also sits on NHS physician assessment panels and has served as co-investigator on four national and four global multicentre phase 2 and phase 3 studies.
